On the 1st of November, we had to let go of Elvis, our handsome 21 year old cat. He’s a big loss, an absolute character. Its going to be strange not to see the Incredible Bulk sitting by the radiator, chirping as we walk past.

His massive girth and ladykiller good looks made up for his speed, Elvis couldn’t run fast, he didn’t need to, he stopped everybody in their tracks with his good looks. So fat he split the greenhouse plastic when he sat on top of it, broke next doors cat flap trying to wedgie himself through. You could always guarantee him to come running if you rustled cat biscuits though.

Costing £5 all those years ago, Elvis fitted into Sam’s palms as a ball of ginger fluff to the giant personality of cat we knew to love. He lost his tail early on but with his enormous back end wiggling, you could tell f he wasn’t impressed. Sam swears he had a bit of persian in him with his beautiful soft coat. He loved his fuss and you could guarantee a night on the sofa would be met with constant demands for fuss with a paw prodded at you as a reminder if you had stopped. Loving his food, other cats food, cuddles on the sofa scratching the sofa on the way up, stopping out in all weathers with rain belting down on him.

In his later years, and at the age of 20, he had most of his teeth removed. In true feline fashion, it was just before our holiday and at a cost of over £400, I told him we wanted another year out of him. It certainly made him much happier eating although we still had to bath him every week something he wasn’t always impressed with it but accepted it anyway. It was like trying to groom a Wookiee and with the amount of hairs he used to shed, you could have sworn there were more mini Elvis’s hiding away.

It’s going to be a much quieter house with you mate, we love you to bits you Incredible Bulk, you big fat ginger, purrfect xxx.
