This weeks astronomy round-up is starting to confirm my suspicion that my Philips SPC900 webcam used for astro imaging is on its way out.  Used to be able to get clear stacked footage, but now, no matter how good the seeing or attempts at processing, the pictures end up being no better than a single DSLR shot.  Thats not how its supposed to be.  Then again, it has given years of good service and perhaps its time and/or wishful thinking that its time to upgrade to a dedicated planetary CCD camera.  Still its been nice to have a clear sky for most of the week.
